Operations & Policy Manual
In 2005 it became evident that The Orillia Museum of Art and History needed a framework within which to develop and record policy. In short, it needed a Board and Committee structure which supports effective governance of the organization and to ensure that OMAH meets Ontario's Ministry of Culture standards.
The resulting Operations and Policy Manual which is available here is a result of seven months of hard work by the Museum's Governance Review Committee. The manual will provide readers with a reference guide to the institution's policies, practices, and procedures.
This Operations and Policy Manual is for the guidance of the four components of the organizational structure of the museum - the Board, Staff, Committees and Volunteers, and Members. It was presented to the OMAH Membership for ratification early in 2006.
A special thanks goes out to James Angus for his expertise and guidance in developing the manual and to those museums which kindly lent their policy models. |
