How do I book a program for my class?

Do you have a website?

Education programs, events, exhibitions, announcements and other museum news are posted on line. Visit OMAH’s website and follow the links to our school programs. www.orilliamuseum.org

Do you provide outreach programs?

Yes. The majority of our programs can be delivered in the classroom by qualified instructors.

Do you deliver programs outside of Orillia?

Yes, our instructors travel outside of Orillia to deliver programs. However, schools further than 25 kilometres from the museum will be charged a mileage fee of $15.

Do you develop and provide customized programs?

Yes. We are always interested in developing new curriculum based programs. If you let us know what you are looking for, our instructors may be able to customize a program(s) specifically for your classroom. Current programs may also be altered to meet different grade levels.

How do I know my visit is confirmed?

We will send you a confirmation form either by fax or email shortly after your class is booked with us. If you have not received a confirmation, please give us a call.

What is the cancellation policy?

We work very hard to schedule our staff to best suit the program schedule. We will also deny other requests for bookings if we already have your class scheduled. Therefore, any cancellations made less than one week prior to your confirmed visit will be subject to a minimum charge of 25% of the fee of the program.

We have a student in a wheelchair. Are you still able to accommodate our class?

Please let us know about your needs in advance. Our education space is not wheelchair accessible however we will strive to make any adjustments to our activities in order to ensure that all students’ needs are met.

When do you require payment for our program?

The Orillia Museum of Art & History will generate an invoice that will be sent after the completion of the program(s). Once your school administrator has received the invoice, payment can be made to the Orillia Museum of Art & History.

When visiting the museum can we bring our lunch?

Yes. There is space in our education room which can be used for lunch. It is the responsibility of the teachers and parent helpers’ to supervise the students over the lunch break. Please advise at the time of booking if you are staying for lunch.
