In the museum’s collection we are always aiming to improve ourselves to ensure that we provide the best possible environment for Orillia’s artefacts. Some of the projects that we are working through at the moment are:

  • Rehousing artefacts to improve their storage methods
  • Digitization initiatives to preserve artefacts virtually and increase access to our collection
  • Collection photography is being updated and standardized
  • Researching artefacts in our collection to improve the associated records

These are just some of the projects that are ongoing in OMAH’s collection. If any of these projects sound interesting to you, and if you would like to be involved as a steward of Orillia’s tangible history, consider volunteering. We have a team of phenomenal volunteers who work in OMAH’s collection on a variety of different projects. If you would like to join us, click here to learn about OMAH’s Volunteer Program.
