Drawing Techniques through Self-Portraiture with Kathryn Kaiser

Wednesday, May 3 – 12 pm – 2 pm

On Wednesday, May 3, from 12 to 2 p.m., as part of our Midday-Make series, please join regional artist and OMAH’s Life-Drawing instructor Kathryn Kaiser for a chance to create your own drawn self-portrait. In this workshop, participants will learn the proportions of the face,  gesture drawings, and tonal drawing techniques through materials such as charcoal and conté to create shape and depth within their drawing.  Kathryn, a figurative artist, attended The University of Lethbridge studying Fine Arts, Psychology and Aboriginal Studies.  She was also awarded scholarships to The Alberta College of Art and the Banff School of Fine Arts.   Locally, she participates in the Images Thanksgiving Studio Tour, The Coldwater Studio Tour and most recently, The Art Trees of Oro-Medonte.  All materials, a light snack and refreshments are included, but participants are welcome to bring their own lunch.

No artistic experience is necessary.
