Aims & Objectives
The aim of this policy is to ensure that the Orillia Museum of Art & History (OMAH) is committed to accessibility for all visitors. Access to our collections and information resources is one of our primary and defining responsibilities. OMAH recognizes the diversity of our visitors’ abilities and needs, and we offer a variety of programs and services to ensure the accessibility of the Museum and its collections.

Support Persons
OMAH has an admission by donation (if able) program. Persons with disabilities who use a support person to bring that person with them while accessing our exhibitions, programs and services and their support person will receive free admission.

Entrances
The Peter Street entrance is accessed by a 3 riser staircase with handrails. The accessibility entrance is at the side of the building, accessed from the courtyard and directly across from Tiffin’s Creative Centre. This is located at the north-east corner of The Sir Samuel Steele Memorial Building. This entrance is equipped with an automatic door and intercom system; accessed by a ramp with handrails.

Wheelchairs
All Museums’ levels are accessible by elevators. Accessible washrooms are available on every floor above ground level.

Service Animals
Service animals such as guide dogs and hearing dogs are welcome.

Accessible Parking
A paid parking lot is adjacent to the museum with accessible parking spaces. Accessible parking spaces are free with valid accessible parking permit on display on dashboard.

Accessibility Standard for Customer Service
OMAH has an accessible customer service plan that is available at the Visitor Experiences Desk. Staff and Volunteers are required to review and implement this plan.
