19th International Women's Day Art Show: EYE TO EYE
Celebrating its fifth year at The Orillia Museum of Art & History, the highly popular International Women’s Day Art Show honours and celebrates women’s creative expression in both visual and written form. Its main goal is to encourage women to express themselves artistically in a themed group show, which is not juried and therefore inclusive. The spirit of the exhibit is one of affirmation and cooperation.
Since its inception in Orillia in 1997, hundreds of women artists have participated in these dynamic exhibits, exploring a diverse range of media and themes. The unique tradition of writing a brief story to accompany each piece of art enriches both the individual work and the show as a whole.
This year’s theme is EYE TO EYE with interpretations from over a hundred artists from our region and across Ontario.
This exhibition will be on display in both the Upper and Franklin Carmichael Galleries at OMAH from February 14 - May 2, 2015.
