A Morning Designed for Young Explorers

Mariposa Mornings is a twice-weekly toddler play program at the Orillia Museum of Art & History, designed for families with children ages 0–6. This welcoming, low-pressure environment invites young children to explore creativity through open-ended play, while caregivers connect with other local families.

As one of the most unique toddler programs in Orillia, Mariposa Mornings features rotating weekly themes, simple art activities, imaginative play stations, and hands-on experiences that encourage curiosity, movement, and self-expression.

During these special morning hours, the museum is reserved exclusively for families with young children, creating a calm, safe, and comfortable space for little ones to play and explore at their own pace.

This flexible drop-in program makes it easy for families to join when it works for them — whether you’re looking for things to do with toddlers in Orillia, a creative outing, or a chance to meet other parents in the community.

Families are welcome to bring coffee or snacks to enjoy during the morning. Mariposa Market, located next door, is a convenient option, but bringing your own is just as welcome.

Guests can enter through the museum doors located in the shared parking lot.
