Introduction to Indonesian Batik with Vancouver-based artist Bernarda Antony

Batik is the art of wax resist dyeing on fabric, and Bernarda Antony works in the art of Indonesian batik. Through traditional motifs, she incorporates legends and folklore into her elegant designs and maintains a connection to her home. Bernarda is a contributing artist in the exhibition Reflections of Ourselves, a collaborative art project which celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Canadians. Please join us in our Dorothy Macdonald Creative Studio on Saturday, August 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for this full day introduction to batik workshop. Adult program, members $100/general $120, all materials are included.
