This exhibition is about imagination, identity, and transformation — what makes a hero (or a villain)? How do characters reflect who we are or who we want to be?
Ongoing Call for Exhibition Submissions at OMAH
The Orillia Museum of Art & History (OMAH) is currently accepting proposals from artists or curators at various stages of their careers for upcoming art and/or historical exhibitions and/or public programs. If you have an idea for an exhibition, workshop or curatorial project, we want to hear from you!
We invite applications from local and regional artists/curators of all backgrounds including, but not limited to people identifying as BIPOC, LGBTQ2S+ and gender non-binary persons, persons with disabilities, refugee, newcomer and immigrant persons. OMAH is committed to equity and inclusion in all aspects of its operations. We pay artists, curators and educators based on CARFAC fee standards. OMAH has two potential exhibition spaces, one is a large open gallery, and the other is a small intimate space. Please note that we plan exhibitions two to four years in advance.
How to submit a proposal
For artists and independent curators, please send to the Executive Director:
– 10-15 images
– Exhibition proposal
– Bio
– Cv/artist resume
– Video file submissions must not exceed 3 minutes (exhibited videos may be longer)
– Hyperlinking to a specific video file is acceptable (YouTube, Vimeo)
– Files must not be compressed (e.g. .zip) or in any type of presentation (e.g. PowerPoint)
