Icons & Alter Egos:

Heroes, Villains, and Everything In-Between

The Founders’ Gallery @ OMAH

Exhibition Dates: January – March 2026 AND May – June 2026

Show us your heroes, your villains, your icons — or your alter ego!

Step into the spotlight and be part of a creative showcase that celebrates imagination.

Attention all high school aged artists!

OMAH is calling on creative teens to show off their artistic powers in our next high school exhibition: Icons & Alter Egos — a celebration of favourite characters, superheroes, and the stories that inspire us.

Whether you’re into comic book legends, movie heroes, video game icons, or your own original creations, we want to see how YOU bring them to life through art!

This exhibition is about imagination, identity, and transformation — what makes a hero (or a villain)? How do characters reflect who we are or who we want to be?

Submission Guidelines

How to Participate

Submission Details

● Open to high school age students
● Submit up to 3 works (any medium — painting, drawing, sculpture, digital art, video, sound, or performance)
● Each participating student will have at least one work displayed!

You’ll be asked to provide:

● Your name, school, and grade
● Title, medium, and dimensions of your work(s)
● A short artist statement or description (100–150 words)
● One image per work (JPEG or PNG, max 10MB each)

Artist Statements

Each artist will write a short artist statement (one paragraph) describing the ideas and motivations behind their work.
This could explore:
● What inspired your character or hero?
● What message or emotion are you trying to express?
● How does your art connect to identity, pop culture, or imagination?
(Keep it real, keep it you — big words not required!)
