Beading Workshop with Exhibiting Artist Nathalie Bertin: April 5, 2025

Please join us for a unique workshop held within the artists exhibition Loup Garou & Mocassins. Surrounded by Natalie’s paintings and moccushions for inspiration, participants will learn about the history of beading during the fur trade and its importance in Canada’s artistic legacy.  The hands-on section follows, learning three different traditional beading techniques.  Participants will walk away with a finished piece – or have at least enough knowledge to complete their beaded piece at home. 

All materials are included.

Suitable for adults and youth 12+ accompanied by an adult. 

Registration is open until March 21, 2025. Please note that OMAH’s programs operate on a cost-recovery basis, and sessions may be canceled if minimum registration numbers are not met. 

About the Instructor:

Nathalie Bertin is a multidisciplinary visual artist from Toronto, Ontario. She has lived near the shores of Lake Nosbonsing, between North Bay and Mattawa, since 2021. She is of French, Métis and Algonquin ancestry with roots in Trois Rivieres (QC), Michilimakinac (USA) & Nipissing (ON). Nathalie is a painter, illustrator, photographer and author who also works in sculptural installation and a variety of traditional crafts.
