About the Speaker:
John Smith is the youngest son of Gordon Smith, founder and long-time owner of CFOR radio in Orillia. While his father made a name in broadcasting, John pursued his own passion for music, studying at Queen’s University before embarking on a 30-year career in education. He retired as a secondary school principal, but remains deeply connected to Orillia’s history—especially the rich legacy of CFOR and its impact on the community.
