Get ready to laugh, draw, and bring your imagination to life! In this fun and engaging four-week after-school program, children will learn to Create Comical Characters—from silly sidekicks to wacky heroes. Through guided lessons and hands-on activities, students will explore facial expressions, body language, anatomy, and shading, gaining the skills to make their characters jump off the page.
Led by artist and educator Stefan Brunette, this program encourages creativity, storytelling, and confidence in every young artist. Each week builds on the last, allowing students to develop their own unique characters while experimenting with various drawing techniques and materials.
This program is perfect for budding artists ages 6 to 10 who love cartoons, storytelling, and creating characters that make people smile!
About the Instructor:
Stefan Brunette was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he pursued his passion for art
and storytelling from a young age. His family moved across the prairies, finally finding roots
just outside of Calgary, Alberta, where he graduated with a B.A. in English, then earned his
education degree. After he and his wife made their home on Treaty 7 territory, in High
River, they started a family. With fatherhood as his muse, he turns memorable events into
works of art. They recently relocated to Orillia where he hopes to continue developing his
passion for art!
